Domaine de Charron, located in tiny Perquie, Landes (the same village as our beloved Chateau de Ravignan) is a small producer, distilling just 4-6 barrels a year from their 12 hectares of Baco grapes. The brandies are bottled traditionally, without any reduction, additives, or coloring. One of the great qualities of Ar

Fruity, multifaceted and complex from beginning to end. Aged for half a century, this Hors d’Age is an ‘Imperial’ example of Jacky Navarre’s ability to produce singular Cognac blends from the Grande Champagne. It has undergone a process unlike most: non-chill filtered, nor colored or boiséd with wooden chips. It is, just as it was meant to be - straight from the barrel.

The nose is aromatic, with notes of exotic fruits such as mango and papaya, alongside ginger, honeyed apples and sandalwood. On the palate, papaya and passionfruit arrive with notes of guava and a hint of eucalyptus. The finale leans into notes of sandalwood, walnut oil and an earthy tone. Bottled at 40% abv.

The tattoo series reflects PM’s experimental treatment of L’Encantada Armagnac through finishing in ex-bourbon barrels. They have been selected and finished by PM Spirits to refine and evolve the spirit’s complexity.

The third release in L’Encantada’s ‘Tattoo Series’ collaboration with PM Spirits is a marriage of six single casks of Armagnac between 13 and 36 years of age before extended finishing in ex-Weller bourbon barrels & final blending. Bottled at cask strength, natural color, un-chillfiltered. The character is dense, with raisin, rancio, oak spice, vanilla, & caramel. Bottled at 52.9% abv.

Through The Grapevine is a collection of single cask bottlings of the highest quality Cognac, carefully selected by La Maison du Whisky. This range was created to showcase the incredible potential of small, independent producers located all over the Cognac region and to highlight the unique personality of each of the different sub-regions of the area, or crus.

This is a delightfully rich and full bodied take on the classic Ile de Re Cognacs, an utterly unique terroir of Cognac. The Ugni Blanc grapes are grown on the island, just off the coast of France’s Cognac region, about as far afield of the most famous crus of the Grand Champagne and Borderies as you can get. The result is a grape that has taken on some of the seaside character of its soil, with a hint of saltiness to it.

The Cognac itself, distilled on the lees, was aged in lightly toasted oak barrels for 11 years. It has a sweet and fruity profile, with aromas of caramel, peaches and mint on the nose. The palate holds notes of apricots, strawberries and oak, with a salty seaside element throughout. Bottled at the full strength of 49% abv.

From Italy's Distillati Capovilla comes this Grappa di Bassano, produced using the pomace of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Vespaiolo grapes. The pomace is distilled slowly at a low temperature thanks to the use of a bain-marie method. It's rather rare to see a grappa named 'di Bassano', at it requires the liquid to be made only with pomace local to the Veneto town of Bassano del Grappa.

The grappa is fairly floral, namely white flowers, pear blossom and lychee, with a touch of orchard fruit and a savoury hint of cut herbs.

A rare Fins Bois offering aged for a remarkable forty years in French oak barrels, Fanny Fougerat Le Notoire Cognac is a fine representation of the Fins Bois cru. Revealing deliciously fruity nuances with intensely comforting warmth and delightful sweet spices, this Cognac is one for spirits enthusiasts with a special occasion to commemorate. 680 bottles of this rare barrel strength single cask were bottled.

For anyone yet to sample the delights of this innovative brand, it's sure to have you hooked. A new breed of Cognac maker, Fanny Fougerat, a fourth-generation distiller, boasts an ambitious and youthful style, producing single-cask Cognacs of an exceptional standard. Situated in Borderies, this 100% Ugni Blanc comes from the clay soils of Fins Bois. Aged in French oak, this small-batch Cognac buzzes with terroir, vibrancy and freshness. Bottled at 44.8% abv.

One of the great qualities of Armagnac made from Baco is its ability to work wonders when trading with oak during the long years of barrel aging, and Charron is a fantastic example of this. This affinity for oak is taken to the next level by the domaine, aging entirely in new barrels, which are left untouched once filled - no topping off and no blending of the vintages during the aging process. This makes their process more akin to Bourbon producers than to almost any other Armagnac producer (the mysterious and lauded Lous Pibous stock being a notable exception). The proprietor, Claude Lartigue, stands apart from the general model of producers in the region, who for the most part have been making Armagnac on their family land for generations. Claude began in the industry buying and selling barrels of Armagnac here and there, before eventually purchasing the Baco vineyards that he produces from today.

This 2007 vintage aged for 12 years in new oak before being bottled at a cask strength of 51.3% abv. If ever there was a single bottle of Armagnac more perfectly suited to bring in a Bourbon drinker, it's hard to imagine a more perfect candidate than this. The comparisons to the well loved and sought after Lous Pibous is inevitable, and apt. The concentration of flavor and intensity of aging in new oak are both there, and well balanced with the essential fruity character of any good armagnac. The nose opens with spiced cherry, orange oils, salted caramel, sandalwood, rich, fresh pressed apple juice, cedar, and honestly - gummy bears. On first sip, it's like riding through an orchard in a sugar coated oak barrel. As you ride through, you get flavors of apple juice, apricot, honey nut cheerios, cinnamon, red hots, maple, and a hint of savory herbs. It's a robust and complex sipper to be sure, but if you're up for a bit of whimsy and love an extravagant cocktail, it'll make a killer Manhattan too. But you didn't hear that from us.
