Single Malt Japanese Whisky from Eigashima Shuzo (White Oak Distillery) in Hyogo Prefecture. Distilled from 100% lightly peated barley in copper pot stills. Aged 4 years in ex-bourbon barrels and finished for 1 year in ex-Kijoshu sake casks (American oak). This is the second release from the Tokiwa Imports Sommelier Series. Two Pinot Noir casks from a renowned winery in Lompoc, California, were sourced and curated by Master Sommelier Kenneth Fredickson and then sent to Eigashima in early 2016. Four-year-old single malt initially aged in ex-Bourbon barrels spent an additional 18 months in these Pinot casks, resulting in only 500 bottles of this rare release. The staves of Sirugue French Oak have truly imparted elegance to this Single Malt Whisky.
